Parenting Coach

A parent coach is someone who helps parents with nurturing difficulties by offering  alternative perspectives around family circumstances, uncovering methodologies to move conduct and family dynamics  and helping parents their achieve  parenting goals.

How to Become a Parent Coach

Step 1

The way to become a parent coach is to firstly do an accredited coach training course where you will learn the skills you need be become a coach and where you will get to practice your coaching skills.

Step 2

Join a community of other parent coaches to share coaching business building tips and challenges faced by other parent and youth coaches.

Step 3

Start coaching  ! As part of your accredited coach training program you will be coached and coach fellow students. During your training you can also start coaching real clients and deciding whether to coach them for free to begin with or as paid clients.

Step 4

Build your network and find paying clients.  For parent and youth coaches this is relatively easy as parents can be found at schools, children’s activity centers, youth groups, etc. Offer to give a free talk to school parents on a topic of interest to them or leave flyers and business cards in places where parents would be and if you have children yourself, speak to the parents of your children’s friends, join the schools  parent committee, volunteer for sports days, volunteer at your local church or youth group. Start with your own network of friends and acquaintances and grow your business from there.

Step 5

Once you have the required number of paid coaching hours, consider becoming an ICF credentialed coach.
